"Original Folk Music for the 21st Century"

Tremblay Evans

Mike Tremblay first met Bob and Joyce Evans in 2001 at a jam in the Port Huron area. They jammed together many times throughout the years and were in a group called "RRR Gang" which performed two special shows a year for a few years. Tremblay Evans - Photo by Gene Butler Mike was busy with solo appearances then, playing with the eclectic group "Thumb Folks" starting in 2003. They played many shows across the "Thumb" and Southeast Michigan up until the end of 2006 and still get together occasionally for special shows. Meanwhile, Bob and Joyce were in a cover band called "Wood's Edge Warblers" playing around the "Thumb" area.

Tremblay Evans made their first "official" appearance in February, 2006 and have been appearing together locally at various venues ever since while maintaining membership in their other groups. In 2008 they decided to withdraw from their other groups to concentrate on honing their own sound and perfecting their original and cover songs. They continued performing locally while recording their first CD entitled "On Roads" which was released in January, 2009. The CD contains 12 original songs and 3 cover songs. They are currently preparing for touring in support of the CD in 2009.

Their music has been described as "folk music for the 21st century" with "vocals reminiscent of the 1960's". However it is described, you will walk away with a message, wanting to see the words and hopefully, humming a song in your head.

In Tremblay Evans, along with songwriting, he sings, plays 6 & 12 String Guitars, Plectrum and Tenor Banjos, Mandolins, Harmonica and Percussion.

Bob Evans - Photo by Gene Butler    Bob Evans has been playing music since he taught himself guitar at age 16. For over 30 years, it was pretty much singing and playing in private settings. His inspiration was from the likes of Denver, Dylan, and Young, prompting him to pickup the harmonica as well. With Tremblay Evans, along with songwriting, he sings, and plays 6 & 12 String Guitars, 5-String Banjo, Resonator Guitar and Harmonica.

Joyce Evans - Photo by Gene Butler    Joyce Evans started singing in a church choir and later started singing in high school choirs. She has been inspired through the years by various female artists, Pasty Cline, being her favorite. She started singing harmony with her husband Bob for a number of years before joining up with various music groups. She enjoys singing with Tremblay Evans because of the harmonic potentials. In Tremblay Evans, along with vocal arrangements, she sings and plays Mandolin.
